Surcingles cross under the belly on Tramontano and the leg straps are elasticated — the two details that decide whether a rug is still on at dawn.
Wool-blend melton with taped seams, rated to 3000 mm water column and 3000 g/m²/24h breathability, so sweat leaves and rain does not come in.
Brush the mud off dry rather than hosing it wet — it takes a minute and doubles the life of the coating. Left in daily use, it comes back from a season looking like it has been cared for rather than survived.
