Two dense natural sponges and two lint-free cloths — one set for soap, one for conditioner, which is the only way to keep either working properly.
The sponges hold water without dripping down your sleeve and squeeze out almost dry, so saddle soap goes on as a film rather than a flood. The cloths take the haze off afterwards and do not leave fibres in the stitching.
They wash at 40 °C and keep their texture. Keep them in a closed box between uses and they stay soft instead of going hard on the tack-room shelf.
