Ardenno Custom-Fitted Competition Saddle, Bridle Leather

Ardenno is a custom-fitted competition saddle built on double-oak-tanned bridle leather on a spring tree — the sort of saddle you stop noticing by the second week, which is the only compliment that matters.

The tree is checked for symmetry before the leather goes on, and the stirrup bars are recessed so nothing sits under the rider's thigh. Billets are triple-stitched to a webbing anchor rather than tacked into the tree.

Wipe the sweat off after every ride and feed the leather once a month; that is the whole routine. Wash it, oil it, and it will outlast several of the horses it is fitted to.

Spare parts and replacement straps stay available for years, because tack is bought to be repaired rather than replaced.
