Zoccolo is leather-bound horsehair, 23 cm — the sort of brush that ends up being the only one anyone at the yard wants to use.
Leather-bound horsehair, with the bristle set deep and glued from the back so it does not shed into the coat.
Keep one brush per horse if anything is going round the yard. It takes a winter of mud and a summer of sweat without giving up.
Spare parts and replacement straps stay available for years, because tack is bought to be repaired rather than replaced.
